The specification inform what formats are supported:

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

✔ Best Answer
Instead of using Convert X, try Handbrake. It will convert vidoes to a format that iPads can read. It also has presets for optimizing videos for iPads, iPhones, etc.

This is the second time you have double posted, please stop doing that. You have all the information you need here.

If you need to know how to transfer the files to your iPad, you will need to use iTunes.

Anyway, have you figured out how to transfer your files?

No I have not I feel a little lost at moment with this device don't think it's all it's made out to be.
Unfortunately apple seems to put their stamp on loads of software and if your quite inexperienced like myself it's difficult.

It's actually a pretty cool device, it just takes a little getting used to.

Ok, what parts are you lost with, explain what you want to do and we'll go through it one by one.

Yes, movies and music can be uploaded to your iPad via the iTunes program. Do you have that installed on your computer yet? If not, go here, download it and install it.
http://www.apple.com/itunes/

Let's start with movies. Are you talking about a movie that is currently on a DVD or is this a movie you already in a video file format on your computer such as in avi or mpeg format?

It depends what format your converted them to and the bitrate they are encoded at. iPads natively support .mov & .mp4 video files, if they are in a different format you will need to look into a third party video player app to play them. iPads also don't like videos encoded at a high bitrate, they will hang and skip.

This is why I recommended Hand Brake. It has a preset to encode to the correct format and bitrate that works well on the iPad.

Anyway, to answer your question, yes, video can be transferred to your iPad using iTunes or a file transfer app such as DiskAid.

You can use I tunes application to transfer iphone data and you can download itunes application from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ but in the case if this application is taking too long time or displaying errors than you need third party software for iPad data transfer. This tool helps you to easily transfer ipad data from PC or laptop to iPad or vice versa.
