Voicemail can be extracted from the iPhone backup files on a Mac (if
you have not set them to be encrypted) with iPhone Backup Extractor.

Synch the iPhone with iTunes and extract "iPhone OS Files" from the
latest backup. Look in:
iPhone OS Files/Library/Voicemail
The voice mail files will be 1.amr 2.amr ...

QuickTime will play them. If you want to use them in iTunes, you can
use QuickTime Pro to convert them to AIFF
<http://www.apple.com/quicktime/pro/>

You can use iTunes to convert AIFF to other formats, such as MP3, AAC,
or Apple Lossless.

When I extract iphone OS files from my latest backup, the only
thing in the voicemail folder is voicemail.db.
Brief web search says this is a database, but I don't know how
to open it.
Anyone's help would be appreciated.
I'm on a Macbook Pro running OS 10.5.8
Cheers

There are a few tutorials showing how to read your way
through the database, but there are also a few tools for
windows and mac that will do it for you.

I have a Mac machine and I use DecipherVoicemail to read
the voicemail.db file out of my backup and give me the
sound files.

Hope this helps!
