Specs: Macintosh
Update Wi-Fi router firmware:
This is important if your Wi-Fi router supports 802.11n, as it may still be using the draft specification of the 802.11n standard.

Use the WPA or WPA2 wireless security option in your router:
If WEP is being used, try using WPA or WPA2 as some Wi-Fi routers using WEP wireless security may cause intermittent disconnects to the iPad which requires re-typing a password. WPA and WPA2 encryption protocols are newer, more effective security options for wireless networks.

Adjust screen brightness:
If your screen brightness is at the lowest level go to Settings / Brightness & Wallpaper and increase it by moving the slider to the right. Also set auto brightness to off.

You can also do this with the Brightness control in the iBooks application.

Renew IP address:
Go to Settings / Wi-Fi
Tap on the blue ">" for the Wi-Fi network you need
Tap on "Renew Lease"

If the issue persists, try turning Wi-Fi to Off and then to On.

I did find that upping brightness a little from the bottom setting
and making sure auto-brightness is off improved a lot in the
dropping Wi-Fi signal.
