Router will not allow connection by new smart phones

November 9, 2013 at 05:28:04
Specs: Windows XP
During smart phone setup, we entered the password for connection to the Router several times and we were rejected each time. Now the Router will not accept the password. Our other devices are still connected and seem to be working well.

Going by what you've told us about the router (absolutely nothing), I have devised the following list:
• The router might need to be rebooted.
• The router might not be broadcasting its SSID.
• The router might have MAC filtering enabled.
• The router might not have DHCP enabled.
• The router might be using a type of encryption not compatible with your phone.
• You might have the password wrong.
• The case on your phone might reduce the phone's ability to use wireless.

There might be others, this is just off the top of my head.
