Specs: Windows 7x64
I have just bought a i-Pod Classic 160GB.
I would like to compleatly delete the i-pod interface and replace it with a simple win explorer type set-up eg. base folders for music & video & Playlists, then inside the music folder I want to list folders by artiste name and inside their songs in mp3, in the video folder would be just small avi's. and the playlist folder = playlists.
Of course this would have to incorporate a player.
I did try just putting a folder with three folders inside and songs in them but it doesn't even show up
On my Creative Zen Ex-Fi player this is how I can set it up, I can also Add playlists from windows.
Suggestions greatfully recieved.

With a stock iPod, it can't be done, unfortunately you're stuck with that interface.

There might be something available if you jailbreak your iPod, but I wouldn't suggest it. Google jailbreaking and decide for yourself.

You can create playlists in iTunes.

What I really want is to make my own playlists and structure my files my way which seem impossible in i-tunes, it sees the playlist functions are what they think go together and there is no file structure as such it's all in one folder.

In the end I found that Winamp (Later editions) (which I use) is set up to manage your ipod and the creation of playlists and copying the music is Oh so simple.
