rename pdfs in ibooks

December 1, 2010 at 19:53:28
Specs: Windows 7
I have pdfs that I can open in Dropbox and then I open them into iBooks on my iPad. The problem is that they are all called "Untitled" and the first page looks the same on each one. How can I rename the pdfs so the titles show up in iBooks?

Thank you!

I'm not sure that you can. Granted I haven't updated to 4.2 yet, but from the poking around in iBooks I just did, It would appear that you can't. There also seess to be quite a few people all over the wanting the same thing as you; so if you can't do it now, you will be able to soon.

Can I put a question here?

I have the same problem with my iPhone 4. It jsut gives it a random name. My 3Gs transfered the names over with the PDF files.

Bookman -free app allows you to rename PDFs in the app on the iPad. Move it from the in box to the library and hit the blue arrow then change the title.

I drag the file from the Books list on iTunes and put them into a work directory on my PC and rename them there. Then move them into the directory iTunes looks for when it Syncs your books. From there, drag them into the Books list of iTunes and they will be added to the Books list. Then you can delete the oddly named files in iTunes. It's not as complicated as it sounds at first.
