Did you have your songs in an iTunes Library? If so, you could just configure the Library for whatever songs you want and synch the music with the phone. The songs from the Library will then replace the songs on the phone.

Doesn't make sense to me why Apple doesn't allow removal of the songs directly from the phone. I wish they did.

Oh my gosh! I am so happy to say I stand corrected! Thanks, DellMan!!! It's a great day when you learn something new.

Now if only we could delete the songs from the phone via the iTunes interface. (Without turning on synch.) Might you know how to do that too? :)

Hi Jennifer SUMN,

I checked iTunes settings for my iPhone and I saw that the option "manually manage music and videos" has a check mark on it, which allows me to manage music manually. You may refer to the link mentioned below:

To apply the changes, you may have to sync your iPhone with the new setting. It may prompt you that the music on the iPhone would be deleted and replaced by the music in iTunes library.

Once you have "manually manage music and videos" option checked for your iPhone, you can delete music from iTunes. Also, you can drag and drop music on the iPhone.

To drag and drop music you need to open iPhone on iTunes and select "on this phone tab"

Thanks & Regards
