Specs: iOS 4.2.1
I have an iphone 4 with iOS 4.2.1 installed. The device will not boot. I think someone may have accidentally deleted some of the file structures on the device. I am about to restore it to factory settings using itunes, but before I proceed I would like to access the file system to recover some important files. Is there a way to do this, or is it a lost cause? Thanks in advance.

If it won't come on at all I'm not sure if it would work but you could try a program called DiskAid. it will let you view and transfer files to and from iPhone and iPads. You can even access the system files.

You can get a 14 day trail of the software - http://www.digidna.net/products/dis...
