Specs: iOS 6.1.5
What does it mean when an iPod touch 4th generation doesn't connect to a network with an ip address of 169.254.63.xxx and subnet 255.255.0.0

If you get an ip address of 169.254.x.x, regardless whether it's an iPod, Notebook or PC, that means, that the device didn't get an ip address of the DHCP server.

In home networks, normally a router will provide DHCP service for all the devices, connected to it, wired or wirelessly.

So you might have to check the router settings, especially the DHCP section in the routers setup.
