No text to an email address?

I recently changed to a new cell phone plan with unlimited talk and text and 1GB of data. Before, with my old plan, I was able to text my email address and get the text in my email. Now, it does not seem to work. I sent the text to my email address which is a valid email address. Nothing appears in the email even days later. My prior plan was Media Max 200 for non smartphone. I since upgraded to an iPhone and got the data plan. Any ideas on what's happening? Thanks.

Do you have MMS messaging included in your plan? You need that feature to text to email.

Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)

I have three phones on the plan: two basic and one smartphone. I was able to text with basic phone to email through contacts. Not so with the iPhone. I tried to send message through contacts also but never received it. Is there something I'm overlooking? Thanks!

IPhone texting uses a different technology than SMS or MMS. Try this -

To send a traditional text rather than through iMessage on a per-message basis, just do the following on your iPhone:
Tap and hold on the message you want to send as a text.
From the pop-up menu, select “Send as Text Message”

I'll try that! I have a more recent flip phone also. Trying to do the same thing, text to email address, and having problems. Put the email address in contacts and attempted to send text. Message comes up there is no data connection. I enable mobile data and send the text but never receive it.
