It may just need a drive letter assigning to it manually.
Have a look in Disk Management.

In the bottom-right panel, see if there is a bar with no drive letter and it may say "RAW". That will be your MP3 Player storage device.
Right-click it and choose "Change Drive Letter & Paths".
Click "Add".
Choose a letter or accept the default.
Click 'OK'.

What make and model is your MP3 player? If it's an iPod, it's not going to show up as a drive. This is done to prevent piracy, you will need to go through iTunes to add songs.
