Replacing the screen is not difficult at all. What you need to ensure is that you buy the screen and digitizer pre assembled. Some places will sell either the LCD or the digitizer separately and you then have a bigger job.

The cost of a screen/digitizer is anywhere from £30 to £50.

You will have to remove the
- Home button from your old screen which is easy enough
- remove the camera and proximity sensor from your old screen with its ribbon

There is a little bit of dismantling and reassembling required but if you take it one step at a time you will be ok.

If you are not comfortable with dismantling the old screen, you can buy a new screen with a home button, camera and proximity sensor already installed.

The replacement itself requires you to remove 4 screws on this inside which retain the connectors from the screen to the motherboard. Remove the connectors and install the new screen, then screw down the cover again.
