Specs: Windows 7
I plugged it in thinking it just needed charging but nothing happened. I didn't drop it. I was using it in the noon hour today and it was fine. Can you help?

If it is absolutely dead (no lights - nothing) then it can only be either the charger or the iPad itself that has failed, assuming the power point is OK. Can you borrow a new charger to see if that's the culprit?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

The design of the charger units for iPads etc. is such that the actual usb cable usually fails at the end where it connects into the iPad etc.. The cable is frequently bent at right angles where it enters the actual "plug" which inserts into the iPad etc.; and this is the weak spot and point of failure.

I had one cable fail that way, and bought two replacements from Amazon - for a price very much less than APple land. Both cables are Apple spec. and work fine.

One needs to read reviews of such replacements, as some makes etc. are questionable in quality and reliability.

Thanks for popping back to let us know the outcome. It might well be the cable as given above.

It may very well be that my cable was bent. I used a borrowed cable and it now works fine. Thank you very much.

These are the cables I bought. As I say - very happy with them and a good price.
