I have an iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 11.4. Is it safe for me to upgrade to 12? I heard reports that there are issues with the display and device charging. Thanks.

I'd be very wary of upgrading if you have "any" doubts at this time. If you do go ahead... backup the phone first; just to be sure your personal stuff is OK in-case of need...

I upgraded my 5S recently and thus far it's OK.

Have you had a chat with Apple-land types; phone or local store techies?

I backed up the phone today. I haven’t asked anyone in my local Apple store yet. The latest version 12.0.1 is out and I remember seeing something online that the kinks were worked out. I’ll have to check online.

Be aware that there may be a time limit as regards updating to iOS12 and being able to go back to the previous (backup) version you have; presuming that option exists as (I think) it does for Mac OSX.

As previous, check with Apple land first?

Are iOS updates cumulative? If you missed 12, can you get the next update for 12? Thanks!
