iPod not discoverable

February 27, 2011 at 15:54:59
Specs: Windows 7
After hooking up to Pioneer vsx-820 iPod isn't discovered by Windows. Installed new version of iTunes as well. The USB port seems unoccupied. I tried to hook up another iPod to the Pioneer receiver and the same problem. Is is possible that the HDDs have been corrupted? Tried the Apple 4 r's as well. iPod runs fine on a Bose dock though.

Any help would be appreciated.

That Pioneer receiver is certified by Apple and Apple does not take certification lightly so I doubt that is the problem. Have you done a reset on your iPhone?

Hold down the home button and the sleep button at the same time until you see the Apple logo appear. If you get the screen that says slide to turn off, just ignore it.

Thank you for the reply. I have reset the iPod Classic several times following the directions listed on the Apple website. I have two iPods with the exact same problem after connecting to the receiver.

That is odd. I would make an appointment at the Apple store to have them looked at. If they determine they are damaged I would have your Pioneer looked at.
