iphone not recognised by device manager

Specs: Windows 7, 2gb
does anyone know why windows 7 device manager doesn't recognise my iphone 8gs so i can disconnect it safely? it recognises my ipod and i have the latest itunes software. thanks

Go into iTunes, and click eject beside the name of your iPhone.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Do you have any idea why device manager recognises my ipod but not my iphone? It happened on my old laptop with xp as well.

My iPhone doesn't appear either. All I can assume is that it is an issue (or feature) with Apple.

I personally just unplug my phone from the computer, checking that it isn't mid-sync before doing so. I really wouldn't worry too much about it.

Can I put a question here?
