iPad Tethering?

Apple Ipad 16gb tablet

Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium, 1.9 GHz / 2812 MB
Is it possible to tether the iPad to the iPhone in order to share its Internet connection?

In other words, can I use my iPhone's 3G connection to surf the web
on the iPad?

Hi,

The short answer to this question is no. Steve Jobs was specifically asked this via e-mail and his curt reply was simply, "No."

However, if you are willing to jailbreak your iPhone, there is an app for it that turns it into a WiFi hotspot. This would allow you to connect the iPad (via WiFi) to the iPhone and use its Internet connection. The app is called PDANet and is sold by June Fabrics PDA Technology Group.

Note that using this app on your iPhone is most likely against your cellular provider's terms. However, if you keep your data transfer to a minimum, the risk in using it will be much lower.

i think you'll need to use MyWi instead of PDAnet because
PDAnet still requires the computer you are tethering with (the
iPad in this case) to create an ad-hoc network and the iPad can't
do that.

Maybe still on the speculation side and correct me if I am wrong but
internet tethering is among the very possible features for the iPhone OS
4.0. But I don't know if this will be implemented on the iPad.
