iPad 2 stopped working after iOS 7 update

Specs: iOS 5
I tried to update my iPad 2 to iOS 7, and it started to load, but suddenly my iPad turned completely off. At first I thought it was a charging issue, but I turned it on again and it showed me the apple sign it shows when you turn it fully on again. But when it turned on, there was the connect-to-iTunes symbol, with the charger and blue iTunes app. So, I connected it to my MacBook Pro and iTunes popped up. It told me I needed to restore my iPad. So I clicked 'Restore' and it started to load. 10-15 minutes later, it said the restoration failed, so I clicked it again. It kept failing, over and over again. Still, when I turn my iPad on, it shows me the connect-to-iTunes symbol, and I can't access the actual iPad information. Please help! Thanks so much.

Take it to an Apple store, they can help you restore it when they misbehave like this.

ummmm. Sadly you are not the first with this problem… I think the easiest/best option here is to follow THX 113's suggestion and take it to an Apple store - ideally to see one of the "Gurus". You "may have to book an appointment…

Also has the iPad ever been backed up or synced to a computer?
