IPad 2 not retrieving mail

My primary account will not retrieve new emails. It acts as if it is uploading new ones but no new ones show up, or like one will within about two days. However on my computer I'm receiving a lot more emails that don't even show up on my iPad. Its driving me crazy. I've deleted the account and added it again, I've done a hard reboot, and most other suggestions. Help please!

Okay, there's a rule when it comes to email..

One program open at one time to receive.. meaning, for example, if you have Outlook open on one machine and you have your actual Gmail (or whatever email account you use) open on the other, it's going to be first come, first serve for the emails. This is because each program checks for email at different times, so if Gmail directly checks and receives an email, it has already been received, so by default, Outlook will not see that.

Keeping that in mind, can you send emails from there okay?

If your email provider has Web Based Email, use that, then you will always be up-to-date whatever device you are using.


Alternatively change the settings in your Windows Computer email client to leave a copy of the email on the server.
