Solved Instant predictions keep changing from turned off back to on

September 15, 2015 at 14:33:27
Specs: Don't know - sorry
Despite turning instant predictions from the default of being on to selecting 'turn off permanently' and then 'save' . No sooner do I do this but it changes itself back to 'being on'?

I have done this several times each time with the same result and it is driving me up the proverbial wall. Can anyone out there help at all?

Make sure you have cookies enabled in Chrome, otherwise your personal settings will keep returning to the default settings.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Excuse my ignorance but what are "instant predictions" in the context of this question? There seem to be a stack of things that fit the phrase - do you mean Google?

I'm wondering also what exactly the OP means.

Perhaps this post on the Apple Discussion Board will help

Many thanks for taking the trouble to answer my query. I apologise that I was not clear enough but yes you are correct I do mean when you start a search on my iPad 1 google comes up with Instant Predictions. Each time I change the settings from the default position of 'allowing these suggestions' to ' not allowing suggestions' a message comes up saying Google have accepted the change. It then promptly changes back to 'allowing suggestions' which is infuriating.

Many thanks for taking time to reply to my query/problem that I am having on my iPad with Google Instant Predictions.
You were querying which OS I am running. The answer to that is 5.1.1
Hope that helps.

Derek

Yes this is what I have been doing and although Google sends an acknowledgement message saying that my preferences have been saved it promptly turns back to being 'on'!!!

Cookies were ( and still are ) 'on' in Google Chrome so that sadly has not done the trick. Do you have any other ideas at all?
Many thanks

Sorry, other than uninstall and re-install Chrome I'm out of ideas. I see this problem has lurked around on and off for some years, without much in the way of fixes. Worth Googling if you haven't already - you might stumble on a fix.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
