Can you tell me if you are only able to purchase iBooks via the iPad? I have an email sent regularly by iTunes telling me about books there was one I wished to purchase Confessions of a GP at 2.99 when I went to iTunes it took me to an Audiobook instead at 6.99. How do I get the iBook version?

Yes, you can only purchase iBooks through the iBook app on the iPad, not through iTunes on your computer.

Don't forget that you can also add epub-format ebooks that you might already have, or acquire from other sources, to iBooks by importing them into iTunes and syncing the iPad. So you're not limited solely to the iBooks store for content.
