I believe your printer is an HP Colour LaserJet 4500, not a Colorjet 4500.

Since HP don't have a compatible printer driver for the iPad's operating system (iOS), the printer must be "AirPrint-enabled" (not all HP printers are, especially older ones), then proceed as follows:

The Apple page at the above link shows a list of HP printer models which are "AirPrint-enabled" but unfortunately yours is not listed, so you may have to buy a new printer which is listed or which says "AirPrint-enabled" on the printer packaging.

There are several apps you can get for print to wireless printers from an iPad or iPhone. Have a look at these apps

Printer Pro
Print n Share
Printer Share Mobile

Go to the App store and type in "Print" to find these and other printing apps. I used to use Print n Share before I got an AirPrint compatible printer and it worked pretty well.
