When an application or the system itself stops working right on your iPod/iPhone/iPad there is nothing you can do to repair a particular part of the software or function. The application "Music" is part of the iPod OS so you can't remove it and then reinstall it again. But Apple provides one easy solution to fix all software failures. This is the Restore function on iTunes when you connect your iPod to your PC or Mac.

But first:
Restart your iPod, if you know how, you have done this and it doesn't solve your problem try the "Restore" procedure next.

First, shut down your iPhone. Press the physical button on top of your iPod for about 2-3 seconds. A bar "slide to power off" appears. Slide the bar. The rotating cursor indicates the process.

Now turn it on again in the same button. The Apple logo appears. See if your problem is gone. If the problem persist follow the "Restore" procedure.

1. Open your iTunes application
2. Connect your iPod
3. Sync your entire iPhone on iTunes
4. When your iPod appears on "DEVICES" click on the icon. You now
have the iTunes "Summary" screen. On the "Version" section you can
see 2 buttons. The "Restore" button is the function you need
5. Click on "Restore". A dialog box appears asking if you want to "Back up" your settings. Click on "Back Up".
6. Another dialog box appears asking you if you are sure to "Restore" your iPod to the factory settings. Press "Restore". This function will take care of everything so follow the screen process.

This should solve all your software problems. If the problem persist then you should take your iPod to an Apple Store.
