i am tying to restore my ipad threw itunes and it keeps saying it cant access it because i have to do my code but i don't know my code? please help

Many people "lock" their pads/ipods/Macs etc. with a four number code to be entered in order to get to the actual "desktop etc."

Is this the code you're referring to?

If you can login to/access your iPad without the above code and just having problems with iTunes... usually that's a password not a four digit code?

Now I'm a little confused here...

Can you boot up/get into your iPad OK and are only having problems with/when connecting to iTunes?

If so then iTunes requires a password (it's usually a letters and maybe numbers too - not (usually) simply four numbers). That password is usually the same one you established when you registered the iPad with Apple (by default); it is for me with my iPad-2. That same password is used when I connect my other Mac computer(s) to iTunes/the Apps Store to download etc.

Be very aware that anything that goes down the "reset" path (at least one of these Apple links mentions"resetting"... ) for iPad operating system - it will erase all your personal data (photos, music etc.). So first ensure you have backed up and/or sync'd the iPad to a computer.

If you haven't already done this I strongly advise you to do so immediately. Then if you do end up in the reset path (which may not be necessary) - your personal stuff (photos, music etc.) is safe. When you reset (restore in computers) an iPad you can download again (for free) anything you bought from Apple via iTunes (unless of course the item is no-longer on iTunes).
