To do an icloud restore on an iPhone, you first need to "erase all content and settings." Does the backup restore all apps as well as Notes, Contacts, etc.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if notes are restored, but anything associated with your Apple account should be downloaded, including apps. Not sure if it restores app settings; the restore actually goes to the Apple App Store and downloads a fresh copy of the app from there.

Razor2.3,

Thank you for your response. I’m not sure what I’ll do since “Notes” might not be included.

Something strange happened with a response to my question. I received two responses from someone yesterday but your response is listed as #1 and those responses are not longer available. Was Computing.net hacked?

Thank you.

*shrug* I didn't delete them, so I don't know. Most likely they were non-answers or spam, and thus removed.

I recall one of those responses was identical to your initial post? And possibly both were. If so the moderators likely deleted them as suspicious?

1. Firstly, you need to reset your iPhone before restoration. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings. Then tap Erase iPhone option on pop-up window to confirm your action.

2.After that, you will get to a new window of Set up your iPhone, just select the Restore from iCloud Backup option.

3.Then you will be asked to log into iCloud with your iCloud Apple ID. This will bring out a list of iCloud backup, just select one backup containing the iMessages you need to start restoring iCloud backup.
