Specs: Windows XP
I have an older PC (Windows 95 or 98, not sure which OS) and a parallel zip drive with many family pictures on both the Zip discs and the PC (no USB ports!) and I'd like to be able to move many of these files over to my newer computers, all of which have USB ports but no parallel port! I am looking for both the necessary cable (the ones I've seen on several searches all seem to be related to printing USB to parallel and the software to use that old Zip drive with my newer PC's (want to put all the pics and other files on my IPOD too) so ran across this forum and decided to try my luck at getting some help. Thanks in advance, Ken

For the ones on the PC the 'easiest' way is to remove the harddrive and add it as a slave drive into another pc then copy across. As far as the zip disks are concerned, if you can copy the contents of those back onto the pc you can use the same method.

Thanks Johnr; I may go ahead and try that but am somewhat afraid to install a hard drive from an older PC into my newer one but I won't know until I give it a try. I think my old PC uses Windows 95 as the OS.
