Solved How do I access the websites?

December 7, 2014 at 14:08:46
Specs: 8.1.1
Can't access any websites. The ipad was working perfectly earlier. It needed charging, and when I unplugged it I couldn't access any websites. Went to Apple chat, did a restore and I still can't access anything. The battery icon is black, but it says that it is at a status of 84%. Help! I backed everything up in iTunes, but I did not know that I would lose all of my books, etc in ibooks. Is there any way I can retrieve those?

Give it a bit longer but seems to me it is either the battery itself or it is not really getting charged. Not much you can do from outside so it might be best to take it to your local Apple store. If it is the battery they can replace them.

Once you get it working, with a bit of luck the link at #1 will get your books back, or the Apple store might be friendly enough to do it for you.

Might as well keep any eye on here though just in case anyone has any better ideas.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

See this:

EDIT:
As an aside, I hope I misread your post which seemed to be saying you did all sorts of things while your iPad was disconnected and running on a battery in a poor state of charge. Not a good idea, so I assume it was just the way the wording came across.

Have you (re)connected/re-enabled the wifi connection on the ipad?

Anything you purchased fromApple/iTunes can usually be downloaded again for free.

Also if you have synced or backed up your ipad to a computer, you can restore/recover them from a backup.

It is very wise to backup your ipad as soon as it's working properly (as when "new"), and regularly thereafter; especially whenever you have downloaded music, videos, books, saved photos and soon to the ipad.

If you have bought Kindle books for your ipad I think Amazon will also permit a replacement download, but not entirely sure about that.

Yes, it was poor wording. Frustrated wording actually. I can't access the internet from the Ipad. It was working earlier, but now it's not. It says it's charged at 96%, but the battery icon is black.

Thanks Derek and TRVIR for all of your suggestions. I'm going to take it to the store tomorrow. I can download everything I had in Kindle and Ibooks, I just can't access the internet now.
