July 9, 2012 at 14:12:26
Specs: Windows 7
Of late, the single & double click of the Home Button don't have the desired results.
I have tried inserting the 30 pin conector & moving it around but after a few days the problem re-surfaces.My phone is Jailbroken & Unlocked unofficially, so if the Home Button needs replacement will i loose my unlock & jailbreak,if the battery is removed ?

Removing the battery won't lock or unjailbreak your phone, but by jailbreaking the phone you have voided the warranty so they won't fix it for free.

Some people have claimed positive results in fixing home button problems by doing the following,

Open a stock iOS app (Weather, Stocks, Clock, etc.). Once the app is open, press your iPhone’s power button until the ‘slide to power off’ screen appears. From that screen, press and hold your Home button until iOS force quits the stock app you have open.

Thanks, have tried the forced quit/re-caliberate of the Home Button, but that's a software fix. Mine is a pure hardware issue that will need replacement.
I'm out of warranty :( By the way, i believe, as of 2010 jailbreaking is no longer illegal.

I never said it was illegal, I just said it voided the warranty and the Apple stores won't even work on them if they know it's jailbroken.

Since it is out of warranty, you can find shops that work on iPhones for way cheaper then what Apple would charge anyway.
