Trying to help someone who accidentally deleted Garage band off his IPAD 1. Can't seem to download the old version 91.) from anywhere. Any ideas?

Aplle does tend to make it less than easy to recover/redownload older generations of apps for earlier versions of iOS. But a google trawl brought this post which may have some useful ideas?

Thanks trvlr. I saw that in other forums, but no luck on this guy's IPAD. It' a 1 with a 5.1.1 os, and I just can't seem to find a d/l site fort the older version. CNET downloads lists one, but it jus takes you to Apple, which of course is acting lik a cock blocker.

mmm - per chance he didn't have a backup of an earlier installation - the whole iPad contents?

No, he didn't. He's not very tech savvy and it didn't occur to him. I checked anyway, but no luck. Thanks.

I had a look at some of my backups for my now ancient iPad 2 and couldn't find garagband anywhere in its assorted backups applications. My thought was to see if it was possible to extract it and then see it it was possible to emistle it over to you; but no can do as I don't have it?

Thanks again, trvlr. I'm giving up on it. Have way too many hours invested already.

Derek, Good to hear from you. Yes, it's been quite a long time. So many personal changes so I haven't been around as much as I'd like. Will try to do better.
