Existing ID or new ID?

I've seen some videos on YouTube which describe how to create an apple id to use in the app store with no payment details attached. All the videos create a new id. Can't you do this with an existing id also as long as you are getting a free app? The videos lead you to believe you need two ids, one for the app store and one for iCloud! I would like to create an iCloud email account first, but not if when I go to the app store later, I won't have the no payment option to choose from. Can someone clarify this confusing question?

A search on the Apple website would have provided the information you're asking for. One Apple ID allows you to access all the Services. You don't need two IDs. From what I've read in your other posts, it seems like your questions have already been answered. The Apple site has a lot of good information. https://appleid.apple.com/faq/#!&pa...

And the link that addresses the "None" option not showing: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2...

And another specifically on how to setup the ID with no payment information: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2...

Doing the best I can here... And remember, there's always more than one path to success. :)

Thanks for your response! I think I've seen the sites you mentioned. The confusion seems to be that depending on when you set up an id you either have the none payment option or not. E.g. going to app store with no id and choosing a free app vs. setting up an id when you activate a phone. The former presents the none option whereas the latter does not.
