disable dhcp client

Specs: Windows XP
I have a linksys modem (working) connected to a speedstream 6520 modem.
I am told I need to disable the dhcp client to stop it cutting out.
How do I do this?

What I am not sure is if you are trying to do this with your iPod
as this is something you need to set up on of your modems.

All the network settings available for the iPhone/iPod/iPad are
in "Settings" / "Wi - Fi Networks". Hit on the blue arrow icon on
the connection you intend to set up and it will display the DHCP
settings. You can use DHCP, BooP or Static. Down you have
HTTP Proxy which you can set to Off, Manual or Auto.
