Solved cant get wi-fi from comcast box

Specs: Windows 7
I have a neighbor very sick she ordered double play from Comcast and we cant find how the wi fi works thay sent a I gest it's called a modem. now she has no phone line but Comcast said she does not need one there is only 1 wire frim the T.V. to the modem can you help me please?

Talk to Comcast, they sent you the equipment so they can help you hook it up.

Comcast has two version of their modem, one with, and one without a wireless router. Make sure they sent you the one with a built in wireless router.

Also, there should be more than one wire connecting to the modem. The cable comes from outside and connects to the modem, then it also connects to the TV. If you don't have the wire that comes from Comcast Cable hooked up, you won't get anything.

If you lift up the wireless gateway device and look for a white label on the underside.
There should be a Network Name (SSID) and Network Key. The key is your wireless access key. From here it depends on what system you are trying to set up. I would say that you need to use a wpa key in the settings for the type, and then enter the key into the password.
