Cant get music onto iPhone

How do you put music onto an iPhone4. I have tried without any success. I have plugged my phone into my windows 7 computer using iTunes 11, and then dragged music onto the phone. It tells me in iTunes that I have songs on the phone, but when I look at the MUSIC part of the phone it tells me NO CONTENT.

It's not quite that easy. There are a number of different ways to do it, but the way I use is to open itunes, click on 'file' and choose 'new - Playlist'. Call it something suitable (iphone' for example), then drag & drop the tracks you want onto that playlist. When done, connect your iphone, click on the icon for it in itunes and select 'Music', tick the 'sync music' box and then put a tick next to the playlist(s) you want added to your iphone and finally click 'apply' at the bottom. You may get a warning the first time if it thinks you have already created a playlist but just click 'ok' and whatever you have selected will be transferred to your iphone. When you want to change your music either add & remove titles from the playlist or create a new one and sync that instead.

I will have to wait a few days as I am wanting a new SIM card for Phone operator as I am moving from an Android Samsung Ace to the iPhone 4 and the phone will not now show up in iTunes. I will be back when I get it going. Also the phone it's self is being transferred from 3 to Talk Mobile and I am having to wait for that to be done as well.

Been onto Apple about a couple of things and asked about the iTunes / iPhone problem. Wow what a lot of excellent help I was given. I was on the phone over 1.5 hours to a lady in LISBON in Portugal, and she knew her stuff. She reckoned that the phone needed setting back to factory standards which she helped with. at about half way she asked if I minded if she could go and have a coffee while the phone was downloading all the new software, and she would ring me back. About 7 minutes later the phone rang just as the phone re booted and we went further an sorted out all the problems. I don't know what exactly was on the phone but I now have all my stuff back on and the music and it only seems to be using up half of the memory that it used to.

Thanks for the input from this site. Regards to all Migwell
