Solved Can't backup my iPad due to an error message

July 27, 2013 at 19:04:12
Specs: Apple
I have an iPad and have been unable to back it up since 11/12. It keeps reading an error message. I don't want to do a restore as I will lose all my data, songs, etc from now back to 11/12. If my iPad were to crash I will lose everything. If I contact APPLE they will charge me to fix this and I Cloud is $100 to download. how do I remove the error message without losing data, so that I can do a back up? Thanks, Lori

Hi Lori, let's take this one step at a time. Apple will not fix your iPad, they will replace it with a refurbished unit if it's determined that you have a manufacturing defect, but your problem doesn't sound like a hardware issue, it sounds like you have corrupt data in which case they won't replace it.

"iCloud is $100 to download". You don't download iCloud, it is an online storage utility. iCloud gives you 5 gigs for free, do you really have more data than that that needs to be backed up? The $100 a year plan gives you 50 gigs of online storage, I can't imagine you have that much data on your iPad that needs to be backed up. What type of data are you backing up? Any program, song, movie, or TV show you purchase can be downloaded again for free.

If you just need to backup your pictures and videos, you can copy and paste them from your iPad to your Computer in Windows Explorer or use a program like DiskAid to copy your files. http://www.digidna.net/diskaid

If the Genius Bar can't fix the error without restoring, there is nothing we can do.

Are you using iTunes or any other software? then leave them. These software generates error message and doesn't able to give complete backup.Use iPad transfer software it is the best software which gives complete backup without any loss and without any error.
