Cannot format RAW Archive

Specs: Windows 7
Hey folks, really need some help !

My iPod suddenly crashed - it was stuck in reset and when it stopped it had apparently
deleted all the music. Still it says that the iPod is full. I managed to recover the files, and now it's only a matter of resetting and formatting the thing so I can use it again,

When I try to open the disc windows ask me to format it (which can't be done). Afterwards it says that windows can't access the disc due to Cyclic Redundancy Checkout.

iPod is recognized by windows, but only as 'removable disc'. It's not recognized by itunes.
Computer Management says the disc is RAW instead of FAT or NTFS. When I try to format the drive in Computer Management nothing happens .

cmd won't let me run CHKDSK because it 'cannot be done on a RAW archive' ...

I tried with HP USB Storage Format tool, but I get the message: "Device media is write-protected". I tried to remove the write protect by make a reg-edit in the StorageDevicePolicies, but that made no difference.

I tried to format it with fat32format in commandoprompt, but I get the same message about Cyclic Redundancy Checkout.

So I am asking, if there is a way I can get to format it that I am not aware of. And if it's possible to get rid of the Cyclic Rendundancy Checkout thing.

- Alfred

Thank you !

I tried all the apple support - still nothing. Is there not a way to format RAW archives, or to delete the corrupted files, that are causing the problem without formatting ?
