As far as I can tell you don't get the option of using LiveMail with iCloud. You can retrieve your emails without resorting to iCloud, just set up your email account(s) on your phone and you will receive your emails on both devices. You can also set up the system to leave copies of your mails on the server for the other machine or remove them if you wish.

Also, speaking from a (bad) experience, I would not recommend using iCloud for handling anything to do with Contacts or Calender (with Outlook). If you do then iCloud will not only copy all of your contacts/calender, it will remove them completely into its own system, so if you have (for example) more than one mobile number for a contact, one will be lost; if you have large amounts of notes on a contact they will go. I actually lost 10% of my contacts and all of my calenders from a year ago completely - ended up having to remove iCloud completely and restore Outlook from a backup.

I did set up my Windows Live with my iPhone - but what I don't like about it it's not "in sync" with my account. For instance, if I'm on my iphone and I read an email and then deleted it and then go to my computer and open Windows Live that email I deleted on my iPhone is still in my Inbox.
With iCloud it all works together -- if I delete an email on one.. it's deleted off the other.
Is there any way I can get my Windows Live and iPhone to be in sync like it is in iCloud??
thanks for the help!
