Solved Black area on Ipad screen.

Specs: Windows 7
My screen has a 3 inch black/grey area across the entire screen. Can't see through it to read what is under it. Yet if there is an icon under it, it will open the screen if you touch it.

Where the dark area is on the screen, if you touch the screen and if there is an icon under the dark area it will open. Such as if the settings icon is on the screen but is covered by the dark area and you happen to touch the spot where that icon is, it will open the settings page. The dark spot will also be on that page as it doesn't go away.

✔ Best Answer
What the screen displays and the touch control are completely independent of each other so it's irrelevant that the touch works.

This is a hardware issue and needs to be addressed by an Apple tech. If its still under warranty, they will replace it.
