Would this netbook found on eBay be any good?

Specs: Windows Vista
Hello! I'm looking to buy a netbook for note taking in my university lectures (very basic stuff, only for using microsoft word really) and i was wondering if this one would be any good as its cheap and i'm on a student budget!

I'm only looking to use word as i already have a good laptop, but don't want to lug it around all day when i could just get a little netbook. Is this one worth looking into? And also what is Windows CE? I don't think i've heard of it.

Thank You!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Window... that will tell you about CE.

I would recommend the acer one but that wont be to bad for just using Word.

I would wonder about the word processor supplied. Probably similar to Works. It is definitely not Microsoft Word. Win CE is the embedded OS.

a 7" screen is too small to work with, IMO. 10.1 are not that great.

I didn't do the money conversion but it seems like the price is nothing special. Why not buy new from a reputable store and get a warranty. I don't know how netbooks are configured in the UK but new models in the US ard being shipped with Windows 7 starter edition. Look at the link below to get an idea of what is available here.

Keep in mind that netbooks do not have an optical drive. Only point of access are the USB ports.

I suggest you try typing on a netbook before buying one. Go to a local store and try one out. If you already have a notebook I suggest you just use it. Netbooks will be noticeably slower.

One other item to note, netbooks may not come with any practical means of making a restore set of disks. You may need to buy them, unlike a laptop.

"Keep in mind that netbooks do not have an optical drive."

In most cases that's the situation, but some come with one built in, e.g. some Toshiba models.

Well, a netbook with a 7" screen certainly won't have an optical drive.

It would work within it's limitations, As long as the file formats are convertible without too much work. Regular Word will not work. Most of these mini netbooks don't have an Intel compatible cpu.
