Wondering if my CPU is fried

Intel Processor - 1 x intel pentium dual...

Specs: Windows XP, dual core 2.8 ghz
I was playing a video game. My computer locked up. Restarted it. Came to the bios screen and then locked up again. Shut the computer down, and tried another restart, but the computer wouldn't boot. I opened it up and saw one of the cables blocking the cpu fan. I removed the cable from the path of the fan blades, but the comp still won't start. The fans come on, but there's no hard drive activity and nothing displays on the monitor. Wondering if the CPU is good as gone?

If you can still access the bios, check to see if your hard drive is recognized. I doubt that the cpu fried, sounds more like a hard drive crash.

Can't access the bios...first time it locked up, I restarted it, the bios screen came up, but it was distorted and locked up again. That's when i shut it off. Restarted it again and now the fans come on and that's it. No display, nothing. :\

It's a little hard to say, but you could have fizzed the power supply. Can you list the specs for your machine. What power supply is in it now? What's the rating on the 12 volt rail? It's all listed on the side of the psu. What video card are you using? It's a possibility that your psu was underpowered for your card. Just because the fans spin doesn't mean the psu isn't fried. Does it smell burnt? Post back with more info.
