Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, 1.793 GHz / 765 MB
Cannot use printer while I'm online . . . as soon as I turn it on it knocks me offline. Tried switching ports with no luck. Also, I'm able to use the same ports to plug in my camera or GPS while I'm online with no problem. Need to print online . . . can you help??

whats the model of the printer?
are you using a usb wireless adapter?

my first guess is that one of the programs that check the status of your printer is interfering with the usb wireless adapter.

Printer is an Epson CX8400 - not wireless. Spent 30 min. talking to Charter tech support - 45 min. talking to Epson tech support and nobody seems to be able to help. Told me to call Microsoft tech support!!!! Seems like the printer overtakes the wireless port somehow??? I have uninstalled and reinstalled my printer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my USB hubs. I did discover that when I turned on my printer that it showed up in the USB 2.0 Root Hub listed along with my wireless adapter??

try installing the latest drivers for the printer and the usb dongle. maybe this is a known problem and the manufacture issued an fix.

I'm not really computer literate so your response is "greek" to me. Sorry. However, just a note . . . I have another computer with the same wireless adapter and the same printer and have no problem printing online with that one???
