Specs: Windows XP
WINDOWS XP PERSONAL SETUP 08-3-2010
I booted the HP Pavilion dv8110us Notebook PC with PC DOCTOR Computer Solutions Version 7.1 2004 from PCPro SHOP
At the A:\> I type X:
I then place the Windows XP Personal Setup CD-ROM in the X: drive
I then type DIR
DIRECTORY OF X:\
DOCS
DOTNETFX
I386
SUPPORT
VALUEADD
(These are the 7 <DIR> listed)
Autorun INF 110
README HTM 3,205
SETUP EXE 1,310,720
SPNOTES HTM 11,387
WIN51 10
WIN51IC 10
WIN51IC SP1 2
7 FILE(S) 1,325,44 bytes
I then type
Cd I386
Then typed winnt to start the installation

WINDOWS XP SETUP screen starts
Setup needs to know where the WINDOWS XP files are located.
Enter the path where WINDOWS XP files are to be found.
I type X:
Please wait while removes previous temporary files.
Please wait while setup copies files to your hard disk.
Setup is copying files
Says remove floppy from drive a: (there is no floppy/ I have no floppy drive/should I remove the cd?
I removed the cd-rom
All I get is a black screen with a flashing cursor at the top left

... guessing as you're sparking off from within the "i386" folder

... should'nt the path be X:\i386 (?)

... its been awhile

... anyway did it ask you to use "smartdrv"?

Why aren't you just booting to the WinXP CD?

system seems to load all files but freezes at the blue screen setup is starting windows
