windows xp boot looo help

Specs: Linux
My computer (windows xp) had just downloaded the updates by itself and after 1 day it went on a boot loop? How do i fix this i dont have a xp cd

Have you tried hitting F8 during startup and selecting last known good configuration?

Otherwise try this:

Turn off and disconnect from domestic power - remove battery too if it is a laptop.
Hold the Power Off/On button in for about 20 seconds. Re-assemble and see if it helps (sometimes known to "unstick" computers that loop).

Hi Geek,

I suspect you have windows update set to run automatically. Also it suggests you have just installed WXP.

Try tapping F8 as suggested above, when booting. This enters safe mode.

Then set windows update to manual, and try booting as normal.

Also I suspect you have not fully detailed the problem. Are you saying it ran for a day after downloading the updates or ?
