Solved Windows fails to start/ corrupt file

Specs: Windows XP, 2.8 Gig/ 1gb ram
corrupt Windows File \Windos\systems32\config\system. I have tried to repair using what I think is the original setup CD-ROM to no avail

Hi Toby,

have you tried booting into Safe Mode? This cures a lot of problems.

To do so, keep tapping the F8 key, as the pc boots..

Once you have entered Safe Mode, reboot into normal mode.
