Specs: Windows XP
Hey ,

sometimes when i start my computer , the monitor doesn't start at all (button remains yellow light). When that happens windows do start properly,i can listen to the starting sound of windows and the lights of mouse/keyboard. Also the reset button of the computer case isn't working till it actually boots.
When that happens i press the reset button and the pc restarts, the button of the screen goes blue and everything works just fine.Pc starts fine and monitor doesn't have any problem.
Sometimes if i shake the desk that the pc is on it freezes and usually the monitor won't work on the next boot. But the no display @ monitor happens even without the freeze.

PC details:
Windows XP Professional , version 2002 SP2.
Inter Core 2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2,40 GHz , 2 GB ram

Try fitting a new signal cable from monitor to PC (VGA cable).

don't think that explains the freeze or why it does start sometimes. will need to wait a few days to try out your suggestion. shops are closed.
