Solved Windows 7 Gateway DX4300-11 Desktop PC won't turn on

Specs: Win 7 Home Premium, Amd Phenom/8G
I have a Gateway DX4300-11 that i cannot turn back on. It has been super slow to turn on for the past year, so i have been leaving it running 24-7. It works great when it is on - no glitches or anything. I made the mistake of turning it off via Windows 7 proper way. Now when you plug in and push power button, all that comes on id the 2 internal fans. Took to Geek Squad and they said everything checks out so it must be mother board. Any suugestions on what else i can do. Thanx

If you get no POST error messages or beeps, the Geek Squad is correct, you'll have to replace the motherboard.

Could it possibly be the psu? I was reading about someone having basically the same problem and they were told that with a Gateway, it was more than likely the psu. Sorta made sense, so just asking. No error messages or beeps on theirs.

The symptoms don't pin the problem down exactly but yes it could be the power supply. Even though the fans and drives spin up it doesn't necessarily mean the power supply is good. It's going to depend on how thorough geek squad checked it out.

I suspect the power supply as well. Acer/Gateway/Packard Bell/eMachines tends to use low end Bestec units that have a higher than normal failure rate. As DAVEINCAPS said, "Even though the fans and drives spin up it doesn't necessarily mean the power supply is good"
