Specs: Windows XP
i have windows vista and Ubuntu installed in 2 different partitions.
i want to format vista cos of virus.
will i lose my ubuntu partition when i reformat it?

Formatting in itself does not change any partitions. That said, your boot loader may get pooched if you re-install Vista. You will lose your personal files, all the added programs and the Vista updates if you format.

Why don't you clean up the virus instead?

the problem is i didn't have an antivirus s/w
now i am not able to install any antivirus

Try booting into Windows Safe Mode with networking (F8 at start up). You should be able to run programs to clean up things. Do you know what you have caught? Try malwarebytes.
