Solved why my cmos seeting going to wrong after switch off the ups

Specs: Windows xp, dual core, 1 gb ddr2
when i turn off my computer the cmos setings are fine, it does not change its value or boot sequence, time date etc,, but after the switch off the UPS and start my pc again i get a msg that cmos settings wrong,, time / date is not set

Change the CMOS battery, they don't last forever.

The UPS is providing a trickle current sufficient to keep the CMOS memory charged. Remove it and there is nothing to keep the memory contents if the battery is flat.

To elaborate on the above comments, ATX systems are designed to have power to them even when the computer is turned off.
