I have just replaced my motherboard in my HP computer. Everything is working fine except the power button isn't working. I have been using the onboard button to start up the computer, but I can't figure out why it isn't working. I seem to have everything connected except 1 wire that has no fitting socket. The Motherboard I had was a MCP61PM-HM(Nettle2). The motherboard I replaced it with is Biostar TA790GXE.
You must have the power plug in from the case's power switch hooked up to the wrong pins of the motherboard. Since it is an HP case are you sure that the power plug in is not proprietary and you need to modify it work with another motherboard's power pin set up?
