Do you have anything attached? Mobile Phone? A printer or anything else with a card reader?

I have a printer installed which has always been there. This has just appeared. I have unplugged everything and they won't disappear. I have tried uninstalling from the contol panel but when I refresh they are back again...! I have shut down and rebooted..still there..ghost drives??!!

It is not causing a problem, there are no conflict or any warnings, it is just unusual.

To be honest, I'm not totally sure. You can hide and unhide drives in windows just like you can files but as you say you don't have any devices with memory attached to your PC it's hard to where the drives are coming from.

What do you get when you right click and select Properties on one of the drives?

I think it is because I have 8 usb ports and im using 1 which leaves the other 7 hidden.
I had shown all hidden files and drive which then displays the remaining possible drive..
I feel totally thick not thinking that one through before I posted..!
Thanks for your concern anyway.

my gut feeling is that it has to do with just pulling out usb drives , instead of using the safely remove process.
