Why is my monitor not turning with my PC?

August 15, 2017 at 01:30:59
Specs: Windows 8.1
Computer is turning on but my monitor won't. To be precise, I left my computer locked when I left the house and when I came back the monitor wasn't displaying my PC, it stated it wasn't picking up a signal despite the HDMI cable being in perfect condition and plugged in correctly. Now, when I boot up the PC it doesn't display on the screen, as I cannot access my computer I'm not sure of specs as all I know is the OS and that it is a Medion PC System Intel® Core™ i5-4430 (4x 3,0 GHz) 8192 MB OS: Microsoft Windows® 8. That's what it said on the box and manual.

If you plug the PC into a different monitor/TV, do you get video? If so, your monitor is bad. If not, your PC is broken.

Well, then, connect a second computer/HDMI capable tablet to the monitor to see if you get an image. If so, your PC is broken. If not, your monitor is bad.
